“It started with a new concrete slab installed to correct a sagging front porch roof. Although the slab was structurally sound, its façade needed a cosmetic makeover. My friend Heidi, who owns Square Root Gardens, recommended I talk with Eric Hanneken of Hanneken Design Scapes, LLC. She promised he would know best how to improve the porch’s street presence. I continue to thank her for the referral every time we talk.
Over the COVID Fall of 2020, Eric orchestrated a complete renovation of my landscaping. He not only installed a gorgeous façade of real stone on the porch. He graded my yard so water flows away from the porch (per instructions from my structural engineer) and created large flower gardens designed to blend with the sizeable trees on my property and the existing flower gardens on the sides of the house and in the back yard. He upgraded my sprinkler system heads to conserve water and installed a drip system in the flower beds. He removed all existing, small rocks from the flower beds, which now are covered in mulch and awaiting Eric’s planting of Colorado perennials in the spring. Then Eric will be helping me on a regular basis to maintain the landscaping he created. I already have referred Eric and his company to other people in search of a reliable, creative, and problem-solving landscape architect. I can give him no higher compliment.”
